As we all know, dealing with stress and trying to management it can be quite difficult,especially since it is very easy to become overwhelmed and start to feel hopeless. In order to live a happy and healthy life, one should know how to manage it.

What is stress?

Stress is the outcome of any major change that has happened in your life. It is the way your body reacts when having to make a quick adjustment or response to change.  The way in which your body responds consists of various ways such as , emotional, physical , and mental changes . Even though stress is something normal that everyone experiences at various point of their life, it is highly important to know how to deal with it. If not dealt with , stress could lead to many problems and possibly chronic health issues such as, depression, anxiety, and cardiovascular diseases.

Ways to deal with it 
Dealing with stress can be challenging especially when you do not know how to. Thankfully there are many techniques that you could try in order to find, what best helps you.Below are a few things you could take into consideration when learning to overcome stress.


Manage your time wisely 

Managing your time , allows you complete the most important tasks when needed . You are also able to balance multiple things at a time without becoming too overwhelmed. It is also best to complete any work that you know you will dread doing first. This way you get it out of way and are able to feel relieved knowing that you have completed that task.Prioritizing also falls under this category. Not only should you put any work first ,but yourself also. Remembering that you yourself are also important should help when deciding what to do first.Breaking down any tasks also helps reduce any possible stress.

Keeping a positive attitude and acceptance

Keeping a positive attitude about things that occur is very important .You should not let yourself stress over something that is outside of your reach, for example , a last minute change of plans. It is also important to know how to accept things. Acceptance plays a big role in letting go of things and understanding that everything is not always going to be within your control. Learning to accept certain factors is also a part of letting go and growing as an individual.

Get enough rest and sleep 

An average person needs between seven and nine hours of sleep a night in order to function their best. Resting and sleeping well ,allows your body to mentally and physically recover from any stressful events you had throughout the day. This also prevents you from possibly feeling easily agitated and less patient. Knowing when your body has had enough for the day is also something you should take into consideration. Overly doing yourself could increase your level of exhaustion and could lead to you becoming stressed.


Practice a breathing technique


Taking deep breaths and practicing a deep breathing technique , helps calm your nerves and relax your body. It also makes your body feel as if it were at a state of calmness.Here are some simple steps to follow , when practicing a breathing technique.

  • Find a comfortable position:Either laying down on your back or sitting down in a chair with your back and shoulders against the back of the chair
  • Close your eyes and place your hands on your stomach or behind your head
  • Slowly begin to breath in through your nose , allowing for your stomach to fill with air
  • Once your stomach feels full of air, begin to breathe out through your nose 
  • Repeat  this process at least three times
Be Happy
Being and thinking positive overall is very important. It helps to improve overall mental health which could possibly help to prevent any depression or future stress.People who also tend to think positive ,feel happier and are more pleased with what they have accomplished.Even though a person's positive thoughts and happiness should comes from oneself, it is also important to surround yourself with other happy and positive individuals. Surrounding yourself with these certain individuals also helps you feel more motivated when it comes to doing the things you love or simply the things you need to do.
